Skillframe Executive
Job Title:
Handyperson/Carpenter
Reference:
VR/02333
Salary:
£110 - 120Per Day
Location:
Walton on Thames
Job Background:
“Our client is a medium sized company operating in the field of commercial building maintenance in the south east of England

This role will often involve going to several sites each day which will therefore involve a reasonable amount of travel in between. You will ideally live within 10-20 miles of Hersham, Surrey.

They are looking for an additional member of staff who specialises in carpentry based maintenance and repairs (some knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical work would be very advantageous) but flexibility is a key requirement along with an understanding of when to call in to ask for more specialist back up when needed

The work is very varied and rarely are 2 days the same

Due to the nature of the works carried out and the type of properties worked on they do require someone who possesses excellent customer/interpersonal skills and who is able to make clients feel at ease in sometimes "stressful" situations which cause them to be anxious - for example responding to a break in. There is a need to clearly communicate with the office to update on the situation where required

Experience of good practice in Health and Safety is a firm requirement, training will be provided to expand this area of competence

All of the company’s work lists and worksheets are done electronically (on iPads) and a reasonable degree of computer literacy will be needed

They would prefer an EMPLOYED candidate and a company vehicle will be provided.

Self employed candidates will need to possess their own van and tools, employed candidates who have their own van would be at an advantage but this can be addressed for the right person. if you are self-employed you will need to have a recent model van. This is so they don’t have to pay the t-charge in Central London

40 hour working week Monday - Friday plus some overtime by arrangement

Salary - £110 - 120Per day depending on experience level plus reasonable travel costs
20 days paid holiday + bank holidays for employed persons, equivalent terms for self employed persons”
