To assist in managing and to deputise for manager in provision of care for adults with learning disabilities, downs syndrome, dementia and autism who may exhibit challenging behaviours and/or psychiatric health problems. AIMS OF POST To deputise and assist in managing the home. To help lead a care team with the support of the Manager to provide physical and emotional support for the residents and to help the residents fulfil their potential. To be responsible for the general well being of clients and maintaining a high standard of care and to assist in providing a quality service to the client group and anyone associated with their care.
SUMMARY OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES RESIDENTS To ensure clients within the home have the opportunities to learn new skills required to become as independent as possible within the amenities of the community and generic services. Directing and managing the care staff as to their specific tasks during the shift for which you are responsible. Escorting clients on organised trips and holidays, to leisure and recreational resources which are appropriate and compatible to individuals choice and preferences. To support and respect the dignity of the clients within the home and promote a positive image for them whilst out and about in the community. To read and carry out the requirements of Person Centred Plans (PCPs) and management strategies and participate in PCP reviews, wherever possible and attend care staff and senior meetings, debating and raising issues on behalf of the clients within the home and their needs based on all area/components of their care. Supporting the care staff in their role as keyworker and co-workers to individual clients. Liase with other professional agencies.
HOME To promote a positive image of the home
You will be NVQ Level III qualified and have Deputised within a home previously.
A good command of the English language is essential and you will be able to work shifts.
